Malachite

Pictured at Pili Palas, Anglesey, August 2006.  Native to South America.  When I took these pictures, I was amazed how close the butterfly let me approach with my camera.  I was just a few centimetres away from it.  I find its eyes fascinating.

Glasswing

Small and very light, with transparent wings, this species is native to South America.  Again pictured at Pili Palas, Anglesey, August 2006.
