Red Squirrel

These pictures were taken at Formby Point in the National Trust Red Squirrel reserve in April 2007.  Most of these images were captured late in the afternoon after the crowds had returned home and the reserve had become much quieter.

Grey Squirrel

Over the years, I have seen a lot of damage to the bird feeders caused by grey squirrels.  These shots, taken in August 2006, show a grey squirrel being thwarted as it tries to get at the food inside a newly bought all-metal peanut feeder.  It's nice to see squirrels in the garden, as long as they don't cause any damage.

Hedgehog

Pictured at Plas Newydd, Anglesey, October 2004.  We noticed this young hedgehog crossing a path just in front of us late in the afternoon.

Lizards

During trips to Africa in the late 1990's I was captivated by the lively geckoes that were all around.  Being cold blooded reptiles, they emerged very slowly and sluggishly during the morning to bathe in the sun until they warmed up, becoming very active and lively, only slowing down as evening approached.  These pictures were taken during their less lively periods.
